Africa was originally founded in 1993 by a group of friends, all
professional Ranger Guides and Safari Specialists, to promote and network our
safari services, and wanted to bring the old style of affordable 'Out-of-Africa'
safaris back to visitors to Africa.
Over the past
20+ years, various of our friends has developed their own Safari Companies,
and today Gateway Africa is in partnership with these Safari Specialists in
Namibia, Botswana and South Africa.
From 2009,
Gateway Africa has combined Swiss management with our local African safari
operator partners to bring to you a unique and informative African safari
experiences filled with fun and adventure that is affordable and
comfortable with no hidden cost.

We at
Gateway Africa operate,
guide and
facilitate
safari tours for
the leading safari companies and properties in Southern Africa, all with
exceptional lodges, safaris and Reserves in Africa's most breathtaking
wilderness locations. As such, we receive special discounted rates from
these companies and properties.
You
will pay the same (but usually even less) booking
your African safari holiday with us, than by booking direct with African
lodges, camps and African safari companies.
You do
not pay extra for our services.
We add our little markup, and still pass along a net savings to our
guests. In addition, you have the assurance that your
trip is being planned and your booking handled by experienced and
passionate African safari experts, on hand to answer all your questions
before you travel.
Our
safari tours have no hidden costs.
We don’t quote
you a low price and then tell you later that, in addition, you have to pay
additional fees or that inter-country transportation is extra. When we
quote on an African safari tour, practically everything except gratuities,
personal purchases, and perhaps imported liquors are typically included in
the cost. We will always inform you up front about any additional costs.
