Day African Culture and Nature Safari Tour
WD7: Depart
Windhoek selected Fridays.
The 14 day Culture & Nature Safari is a perfect way to see
the classic highlights of Namibia but to also get down to the “grass
roots of Namibian Culture. The style is limited participation,
assisted overland camping with the participation limited to only
helping with the tents.
The first section of the itinerary will take you sightseeing,
traveling to the world’s highest sand dunes at Sesriem &
Sossusvlei and then to Swakopmund on the Skeleton Coast. From here we
will enter Namibia’s most beautiful desert region, Damaraland, where
we will visit Namibia’s highest mountain, the Brandberg and the
ancient Bushman rock engravings at Twyfelfontien. From here we spend
time at a Himba village before traveling deep into Kaokoland, the home
of the Himba where our “Cultural Lesson” really starts. We camp on
the banks of the mighty Kunene River, one of the few permanent water
courses in Namibia, where we can meet some of the locals. From here we
make our way slowly back south, visiting and staying with more and
different communities through out Owamboland.

On this safari trip we offer two days of game driving including an
afternoon game drive upon arrival, a full day game driving across the
Park and a morning drive before returning to Windhoek.

This safari tour starts and ends in Windhoek and includes magnificent
views from the Spreetshoogte Pass, Dune 45, Sossusvlei (with some of
the worlds highest sand dunes) Deadvlei and the Namib Desert.
