FAMILY SAFARIS
Our existing thrilling safaris may also be booked for the exclusive use of your group for up to six guests – ideal for family safaris. Your choice may include wilderness camping exclusively in tents, a combination of camping and lodge-accommodated safaris, and safaris accommodated entirely in lodges. Short, interesting child-friendly traveling days. Any of our safaris could be customized to your family's unique requirements.

Small Groups: Our concept of operating tailor made and scheduled small group (max.6) camping safaris. 

Vehicles: Gateway Africa Safaris operates with Toyota 4x4 safari vehicles, that are comfortable and reliable.                                                   

Equipment: Our camping safaris are designed with the comfort of our guests in mind and we supply all camping equipment including large, all-weather tents with comfortable mattresses and fitted sheets.

Professional Guides: All our experienced professional guides are from Southern Africa, and have an in-dept knowledge of the areas that they will guide you through.

First Aid: Our guides are trained in basic first aid and the vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive medical aid kit. Preventative malaria medication should be taken before the trip and throughout its duration, although it is advisable to consult a doctor prior to departure.

Insurance: It is compulsory for all travelers to have insurance covering their personal requirements, medical expenses and personal possessions. This is to be arranged before leaving your home country. 

Luggage: There is a baggage limit of one rucksack per person in addition to a small "day pack" for cameras, toiletries, etc. This is very useful for excursions during the tour. Please adhere to the allowance specified as space for luggage is limited.

Meals: All meals are prepared by the guide. Meals are nutritious and filling, drawing on fresh local produce where possible. We buy groceries along the way, so our clients have a say in what type of meals are eaten. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements in advance.

Tailor made Safari Ideas

Our All inclusive Safari Concept
The most important point, is to make sure that all the essential things associated with the safari are included in the quoted price: ground transportation, accommodation, meals, excursions, guide/driver service and transfers. Some operators tend to confuse the issue with a very low up-front quote for a bare-bones trip that is not what you want and not what you end up paying for, once all the 'extras' are added in.

Deluxe Camping Safaris
All our camping safaris can be up-graded to a Deluxe, or luxury version, with more nights in chalets and lodges, and less nights camping. Travel is by overland safari Mini-bus and camping is usually in official sites, with good ablution facilities and other amenities. Meals are enjoyed communally around a well set table and chairs. Dinner wine are included in the cost.
