Etosha National Park is renowned as one of the best game reserves in Africa, is a haven for wildlife and supports one of the most important ecological and wildlife systems on the continent. At 22,270 km sq this huge park hosts an impressive collection of game including the white rhino and endangered black rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe and numerous species of antelope as well as an impressive 340 species of birds - enough to keep any nature and wildlife enthusiast happy. Mid-range Lodge - per person Departs every Tuesday from Windhoek and ends in Swakopmund. Price: N$ 3,950 / person sharing Single Supplement: N$ 600 (Price valid until 31 October 2012) Please Note: From the 1st April 2012: This safari ends on arrival in Swakopmund, giving clients a chance to spend a couple of carefree days exploring this quaint seaside resort, joining adrenalin activities, sampling coffee and cakes or just meeting the dolphins and seals on the boat cruise. If you would like return to Windhoek, perhaps the 4 Day Etosha Express will best suit you. Day 1: LODGE, NEAR ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK We depart from Chameleon Backpackers Lodge, Windhoek 08h30. We stop briefly at Otjiwarongo and enjoy a light lunch pack before entering Etosha National Park through the Anderson Gate and we have an afternoon game drive to some of the closer waterholes looking for predators as well as zebra, giraffe, elephant and rhino. We arrive at our lodge just before sunset outside the gates of Etosha National Park. Twin share permanent tents with en-suite bathroom facilities. Dinner is prepared by your guide and an early night is recommended. (D) Day 2: LODGE, NEAR ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK We depart from our lodge at sunrise to be the first at the gate to the park and game drive until mid morning when we will stop for a light breakfast. We visit many waterholes and drive half way across the park in our quest to find the big 4 as well as all the plains game arriving at Halali for a rest during the hottest part of the day. Here your guide will prepare you a delicious lunch whilst you have a dip in the pool or relax by the camp waterhole. Continuing after lunch you will visit the mighty Etosha Pan and have the experience of walking on the pan to feel the immenseness of this 4500 sq km saltpan (seasonal). We will then continue back to Okaukuejo calling into some well-known waterholes and leave the park prior to sunset. Accommodation is twin share permanent tents with en-suite bathroom facilities. Dinner is prepared by your guide and another early night is recommended. (BLD) Day 3: SWAKOPMUND Early morning leisurely breakfast and departure from your lodge at 08h00. Your vehicle travels via Outjo and Omaruru with a light roadside lunch served en-route. Arrival in Swakopmund is approximately mid afternoon to give you time to explore this quaint seaside town on foot. You will be dropped at your accommodation of choice by your guide (B,L). NB: The accommodation provided is on a twin share basis in safari style permanent tents or twin rooms with en-suite facilities and self catering facilities. The lodges used are located within 25km of the Anderson gate on the western side of Etosha National Park. This safari does not visit Namutoni Camp.
