Highlights of Namibia - 6 nights / 7
days: To observe Namibia from the air is an
awe-inspiring experience. The vast expanses of moving, rippling
sands, the great blue skies and grey of the ocean extend to the horizon.
This safari explores four distinct regions: the sands and red
dunes of Sossusvlei; the icy, life-filled coasts of Swakopmund and
Walvis Bay; the stark plains of Damaraland with their desert-adapted
wildlife; and the amazing wildlife abundance of the Etosha savannah.
Private charters between
camps minimize travel time and provide a bird's-eye view of the immense
landscapes. Diverse activities enhance the in-depth experiences,
including a dolphin cruise, seafood lunch and quad biking.
The safari departs
from Windhoek. The aircraft and pilot stay with the group throughout so
there is continuity and flexibility. All meals, park fees and activities
are included. Group size is normally around four guests - but we reserve
the right to go for a maximum of eight guests.

11
nights & 12 days discovering Botswana's Great Wilderness: At
the turn of the century, explorers and adventurers made their way
leisurely across the dusty paths of Africa, allowing the great continent
to seep into their souls. Wilderness’ guided mobile safaris takes time
to experience and explore Botswana’s contrasts and extremes: from the
waterless and strange landscape of the Kalahari Desert at the
Makgadikgadi Pans, to the lushly vegetated wetlands of the
Okavango Delta, Chobe and Victoria Falls.

of 5 tents at any site while on safari. No single supplement is

Migration
Routes takes the time to explore the contrasts, extremes and continually
moving game of northern Botswana: from camping on islands in the jewel
of the Kalahari, the Okavango Delta, and its crystal-clear waterways, to
the game rich plains of the dry Savuti marsh and the seasonal elephant
herds at our Linyanti concession. This safari also takes in the amazing
annual zebra migration along the Linyanti River from its source,
documented by Dereck and Beverly Joubert in their famous documentary,
“Stolen River.”

The
route followed on this Exploration aims to track and reveal the elusive
wildlife of the desert and the life-rich, the rugged Atlantic Coast and
the immense moving dune fields of the Namib Desert. Surprisingly, the
seemingly barren desert comes to life with an amazing plethora of plants
and animals that have ingeniously adapted to their harsh surroundings
– and in fact thrive. On this journey there is also an excellent
opportunity to find even the largest of mammals surviving here – the
desert-adapted black rhino and elephant. Covering Etosha National Park,
Damaraland, Swakopmund, Sossusvlei.

Wilderness
Luxury Tented Camp Safaris
Wilderness
Discoverer Safaris, are a luxurious range of
African safari that take advantage of unique locations, taking
guests on a spectacular journeys through remote wilderness areas to enjoy
the most outstanding wildlife viewing in
Africa. Our itineraries provide superb encounters with the wildest, most
diverse, remote and scenic areas in each country.
The
Discoverer safaris combine permanent safari camps
with private, luxury mobile camps that are
pre-erected prior to guests' arrival. These camps are always located in
private areas, away from any crowds or public areas, and in
exclusive wildlife areas.
The
Discoverer safaris use "meru-style" tents for the mobile camp
sites. The innovative design of these tents, with their hexagonal shape,
walk-in structure and en-suite separate toilet and
shower areas, allow for a sense of space, unmatched views, and
privacy. The tent interiors create a sense of stepping back in time, 'Out-of-Africa'-style,
with flowing linens of heavy, pure cotton,
full-sized beds, and "old brass" finishes.
Paraffin hurricane
lanterns and a crackling campfire set the
evening safari ambience. Fresh, sumptuous meals
are prepared around the fire by safari staff, creating a warm and inviting
atmosphere. The dining area is under the stars (a dining tent is always
set up in case of rain), lending that lovely "wilderness
camping" feel to the night. A reference library is also available for
bedtime reading.
Our
scheduled African safaris feature frequent, scheduled departures, each
accommodating small groups of up to 8 guests only (guaranteed
with a minimum of 2 guests), thus ensuring a
personalized experience. All safaris are
"non-participation" (meaning all cooking and camp work is
performed by the safari staff) with old-style 'Out-of-Africa' safari
comforts and amenities provided.
These
safaris are expertly guided and hosted throughout by an experienced and
fully trained professional guide, ensuring a seamless interpretation of a
diversity of African safari experiences. The guides are dedicated
and committed individuals who love what they do and seek to share their
knowledge and passion with their guests. The guide
remains with the group throughout the safari,
ensuring that there is a consistent and detailed interpretation tailored
to your specific interests.
The special feeling of
