 The Zambia safari
and tourism infrastructure are still relatively undeveloped; however,
there is a small but sophisticated safari industry with excellent safari
lodges and seasonal bush camps and some of the best African safari guides.
African safaris in Zambia are ideally suited for "out of
Africa travelers", or those seeking a remote and more exclusive
African safari, that is not yet crowded with tourists.
By sharing
the magnificent Victoria Falls with Zimbabwe, made Livingstone
a new hot-spot for tourism activities.

& Victoria Falls, Zambia: For many years Livingstone was
considered by the experts, as the perfect location from which to
visit the great Victoria Falls. However, Livingstone's few small bush
lodges have until recent years been eclipsed by the busier Zimbabwean town
of Victoria Falls. Now Livingstone has raised to the challenge: it's the

Zambia was
considered to have had some of the highest game populations in Africa;
unfortunately, over-hunting and poaching have since decimated the game in
many areas. Recently however, the Zambia safari industry has been
steadily recovering, with fresh government controls and new safari
camps being built in the Luangwa and Kafue. Today almost 30% of Zambia
is under game management, making a safari to Zambia one of Africa's
best.
A
vast grassy plateau dominates the country, with the prime wildlife regions
being concentrated around the Luangwa, Kafue and Zambezi river systems.
While not sharing the game diversity of some of its neighbors, Zambia's
wildlife concentrations are impressive and a safari to Zambia is ideal for
specialists seeking specific African wildlife species, or bird
life on a brilliant scale.
Zambia
is the home of the modern walking safari and it offers some of
Africa's best traditional walking safaris, particularly in the Luangwa
Valley. Firstly, here (like Zimbabwe) there is a clear structure of exams
which regulate the quality of safari guides. These include stringent
practical tests for walking safari guides.
Such
high standards of 'bush-craft' guarantee that you will be guided by a
great guide on your Zambia safari, and this will add enormously to
your safari experience.
Secondly, the national parks, where most of best Zambia safaris are
conducted, all allow night drives. This adds a new dimension to
game-viewing, with the opportunity to see different animals, from the
elusive leopard to the amusing "bush-baby". Night drives
are another specialty of the Zambia safari and they provide arguably the
best means for seeing some of the Zambia's elusive nocturnal safari
species.
